POLICY - Trustees’ recruitment and expenses

Recruiting trustees

New trustees will be recruited when the Board of the infant trust deems it necessary. All new trustees will be recruited through a transparent process that involves advertisement, interview by or meeting with at least 2 Board members; the receipt of a rejection or formal offer to join the Board will be the final outcome. No expenses incurred in the recruitment process by a putative candidate can be reclaimed

Trustees’ expenses

Trustees of the infant trust are not paid for their role as trustee. the infant trust may pay for reasonable expenses for travel to and from meetings and for travel abroad connected with the infant trust work - these expenses must be sanctioned by the Board.

This policy was reviewed and agreed at a meeting of the Board in June 2009. It will be reviewed again in 2010.
